HALLOWEEN FUN
When I plan my
party, my friends and I try to think of some new ideas that
will keep it fun every year, you have to do something a bit
different or it gets boring real fast. Plan some cool music,
maybe some games or movies to watch. Sometimes we have a
costume contest, it really gets our invited friends going
with what they'll wear for the party! Give some prizes, they
don't have to be anything expensive. Make some prize
ribbons, go to a dollar store and buy Halloween beads and a
bunch of Halloween trinkets, make up little gift bags for
prizes. It don't take much to figure out and your friends
will love it!

Music
Setting the mood for your party is all about the music! It
depends on the tone of the party, too, like if it's a
vampire party then you want the music to match. I'll make a
playlist with music from all my favorite vampire movies,
techno stuff. You can find a ton of Halloween Party Mix
CD's, too, ones that have all kinds of Halloween music like
old stuff, punk, new stuff. It's so easy to set up music
using your IPod or lap top.
Scary Movies
We did a party once that was a movie party. Everyone dressed
as someone from a horror movie, we set up a TV outside and
ran all kinds of horror movies all night starting with the
original classic "Halloween". You can get an idea of the
types of horror and
Halloween movies you want to use by clicking that link.
Just to keep the fun going during the year, every time
there's a Friday the 13th, we have a "Friday
the 13th" party and show the first three movies in that
series. I have to give credit where it's due, I got the idea
at
Halloween-Online.com. If there are a couple in a year.
it helps break up the wait until Halloween comes around
again.
Halloween
Games
There's all kinds of games you can play at a party that are
fun and not too juvenile. I found a site that has great
Halloween party game ideas, some of which are for kids,
but can be changed to use for teens and adults. Even at 19,
one of my favorite games is one we used to play as kids
where you use fruit, spaghetti and stuff to use as body
parts while telling a story about a dead guy. You make
people guess what they are as they get passed around. It's a
kids game, but it's fun for anyone at any age I think.
Halloween Costume Contest
The past three Halloween parties that I've had, I've made
sure to have a costume contest. It gets your friends to come
up with some really interesting costume ideas, believe me! I
usually have three categories, one for the guys, one for the
girls and one for couples. I check out the dollar stores and
the Halloween stores for some cool yet inexpensive prizes to
give out and I make very cool award ribbons for each one.
About half way through the party I'll hold the contest and
my best friends and I decide who wins.
Halloween Party Bags
I like to give my guests a little something to remember the
night so I look for all sorts of little trinkets to put into
small treat bags and hand them out to my friends when they
leave the party. I get stuff like bags of bat rings, plastic
vampire teeth, rubber worms and glo-sticks. You can go to
places like dollar stores or mass retailers and find bags of
usually a dozen for a couple bucks a bag. Just divide it all
up and make little Halloween party gift bags for everyone!
Don't forget to add some candy!
