HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS
If you want to
have a great party, you need to decorate properly! You don't
want to have, say, a Vampire themed party and not have it
look like everyone just rose from the ground! Do it right!
You can usually pick stuff up at after Halloween sales that
you can use for next year. Making some of the decorations
yourself helps keep the cost down, too. I get my friends
together and we plan out our party almost a year in advance
so we have plenty of time to work on everything that we'll
need. below, you'll find a few ideas to amp up your party
and make it special.
Fog Machines
I love having fog floating around the backyard during my
parties so I have about five fog machines. They just add
that extra something to the night and the fog juice smells
cool, too! Kind of musty and old but in a good way. What
really got me started on fog machines was this
fog machine
site, it has about all the info that you'd ever need to know
about them. There's this thing called a "Fog
Chiller" that you can make that keeps the fog low to the
ground so it sort of floats. Way cool!
Spider Webs
People just seem to hate spiders, I think they are kinda
cool myself, at least the not poisonous kind. Putting webs
all over everything makes it look old and creepy and there's
so many ways to do it. You can use store bought, you can buy
the huge rope webs and put big spiders in them and you can
buy or make a web shooter and spray them anywhere. They even
make them in a can now, you can find it at most Halloween
stores. There's a year round Halloween store here in Vegas,
I shop there often or just go walk around and look at stuff.
Helps me get creative! This place has a whole section on
what to do with
spider
webs.
Black lights
Another trick I like to use at my party, black lights. You
can buy them or make them pretty cheap so there's not reason
to not have a few around. They make everything look so
trippy! There's all sorts of things that you can do with
black lights, I found a bunch of ideas if you click that
link. One year, we had everyone dress in white ghost
costumes and set black lights up in a few places. The yard
glowed with creepy ghosts! Anything white glows and if you
use day-glo colors to pains stuff, it looks 3-D, just jumps
out at you.
Halloween
Wreath
I like to make crafts as long as it's Halloween stuff. Every year my mom
has me whip up a couple of new Halloween wreaths, one for
the front door, one for above the fireplace. After doing
this for many years we now have Halloween wreaths all over
the place. I keep one on my bedroom door year round! There's
some good ideas for
Halloween wreaths in the Crafts section. I make some
scary and some just kinda cute ones.
Gothic Decor
Now, I'm not saying I'm, like, a total Goth but I do love
Halloween, I do love black, purple and blood red. I do love
decorating with Gothy looking stuff, like elaborate black
candelabras, black roses, red candles, coffins, skeletons
and the like. I keep that stuff out in my room year round,
it makes me feel peaceful. It also makes a great theme for a
party! Check out this site for
Halloween party theme ideas!
I also like to
collect dolls of the darker side.
